About the Author
Desislava Kaludova
Equal parts nurse, author, mother, grandmother, and devoted cat mom—balancing life with heart, story, and a touch of purr-fection.
I was born in Eastern Germany and grew up in Bulgaria during the communist era. Those early years inspired the story in the first part of my self-published book, The Porcelain Doll, which came out in 2021.
I have enjoyed reading and writing since I was a child. This passion led me to write short articles throughout high school and college. I later pursued a medical degree at the University of Varna, Bulgaria, where I grew up.

"With a background in medicine, I care deeply about women's physical and mental health — a passion that often comes through my writing."
The longer story
I am also curious about world history, how people live in other cultures, and the doctrine of Christianity. I have called Tampa Bay, Florida home with my family since 2001. We also share our lives with Cleo, our Bengal crossbreed cat.
I am a mother, grandmother, medical professional, and author. When I'm not writing, I'm usually in the kitchen or out in my garden. I love cooking, trying new recipes, and baking fresh homemade bread. I also spend time tending to herbs, vegetables, and flowers in my garden.
I spend my weekdays working as a nurse, caring for patients. On weekends, I like to visit local book fairs and library events. Connecting with other readers and writers online also inspires my writing.
